Tesco product pages.
The purpose of this project was to improve the look and feel of the product pages on the new responsive grocery site. This was also an opportunity to ‘beat up’ the new DDL (digital design library) and see how look in context. The idea was to use ‘cards’ for different components on product pages. This would allow us to set guidelines when designing within the cards, providing greater design consistency and breaking down the information in easy to manage chunks. Ability to rearrange content was another huge factor in this design, every product is different and therefore the information needed by the user different too. For example the information needed for a bottle of wine is greatly different to that required for sugar. These designs initially focused upon existing elements on the product page, the next versions would look at including recipes and the ability to purchase ingredients related to those recipes. Below you can see the modules working together. These designs gained traction throughout the business to demonstrate how the Tesco sites can and should look using the DDL.
